Roast level: Medium

Tasting notes: Rich cocoa, melon, grapefruit

Single Origin: Highlands of Mataquescuintla, Guatemala

The biodiversity of this shade-grown coffee from Guatemalan highlands will delight your palette. This medium roast single-origin bean offers soft cocoa notes, with a hint of grapefruit sharpness as it cools, but a balanced sweetness and body all the way through. We love this coffee brewed fresh, but also as a cold brew, bringing out its extra smooth qualities that are delicious black or with your favorite creamer.

Meet the Farmers

Lilly's Guatemala comes from a family farm in the highlands of Mataquescuintla in Guatemala. Their biodynamic farm, Finca Santa Marta, is run by Lilly and David along with their children as they spread the love of coffee farming within the family. They also operate the export out of Guatemala, and import to the U.S. themselves. David runs the day-to-day farming while Lilly runs more of the operations and outreach. They employ local residents and ensure fair and equal treatment of all collaborators and partners.

We categorize roast level per general terms, and are subject to our opinion. Visual difference may not be detectable. Lighter roasts will have more nuanced flavors and higher acidity, medium roasts will have a balanced body, and darker roasts will have a richer and fuller body.

Please select the closest option for pre-ground coffee:
Fine for espresso
Medium for drip and pour overs
Coarse for french press or cold brew

For a more dialed in grind, we highly recommend purchasing a burr grinder for best results.

We roast weekly, and label each bag with the roast date for your reference. We recommend brewing within 3 months of the roast date for best results, and optimal flavor extraction we recommend brewing 2-4 weeks post roast date, depending on the bean and brew method.

We ship all orders via USPS Ground. Orders are shipped typically 1-3 days from order date unless fresh beans need to be roasted. We roast on a weekly basis, so orders could take up to 5 days to ship. Email us with any questions or concerns! hello@sweltercoffee.com

If there is an issue with your order, you can contact us within 30 days of purchase to resolve. If you simply do not like the coffee, we cannot offer a refund. Please gift the coffee to someone who may enjoy it!
